MK1 Escort ’72 2Door, 12/4/2019 · Re: Roger Carroll Duratec parts Adelaide by MK1_Oz » Wed Dec 04, 2019 3:25 am Just for other’s info, I contacted Roger Carroll this week on durescort@gmail.com to see if he is still doing Duratec .
After seeing what a Duratec can do to a HD type 9 in a light 500kg clubbie I suspect you might not want one in a rally car – but could be wrong. Again Roger Carroll in Adel has quite a bit of experence with this box and mating it to a fairly worked Duratec engine.
Roger Carroll get in touch with Roger . he will have all the conversion parts you need. mounts, dry sump, water rail, etc. use your standard crossmember and go to a wrecker to get an engine. he has conversion parts for an rx7 5 speed, but there are other options for gearbox’s. and get ready to start dishing out the cash. depending how crazy you want to get with tuning.
5/29/2015 · The 5 or 6 speed Mazda box will work but the series 5 RX7 turbo box is probably the strongest. There are a number of places in the UK that do all the conversion parts but most seem to use the type 9 box. Have you had a chat to Roger Carroll in Adelaide? He makes all the parts to get the Duratec into the Escort and uses the Mazda box.
2/10/2009 · Otherwise speak to Roger Carroll in Adelaide, as he does a bellhousing for the RX7 gearbox, which is what he uses on his Escort MK1 with 280bhp Duratec www.gulfpetrolheads.com 29-11-2009, 23:11 #10, Duratec RWD Conversion Parts Hi I’ve been tinkering away on my escort for some time, but have decided to up the performance somewhat. Planning to install a 2.3L Duratec and have acquired this engine: I’ve looked into all the UK options for conversion parts, but wondering if there are any Aussie options, or does anyone have some laying around they want to offload?, Some use normal escort type 9 gearbox, but i think the Mazda Rx7 conversion is the way to go. Roger Carroll down in SA was making bell housings and other bits to get the Duratec in (i have his details here if you need them). What sort of power are you looking for? If lots then Duratec would be the better option than Zetec.
Roger Carroll owned the Escort and being an Engine Engineer did all the development on the Duratec l4 engine 300hp+ engine. If anyone in the US is looking for some absolutely outstanding castings to do the conversion and wanting advice on how to build a a seriously rip snorting Duratec , do yourself a favour and get in contact with him.
Duratec 25 I am looking to take advantage of new rules and regulations in the tarmac rally world by building a N/A 2.4L Duratec . As has been done many times before I will use a 2.5L block, a 2.3L crank and 2.0/2.3L head to get the best capacity and revability/power.
